Professional Clinical Counselor with over 15 years of experience in behavioral
health, crisis management, and substance‐use prevention. Her expertise includes
program development, trauma‐informed education, and crisis intervention for
at‐risk youth and adults. As Clinical Director and Board Chair, Dr. Mitchell oversees
all clinical compliance, program quality, and prevention curriculum design for
True‐North Initiative’s Annual Intensive Retreat (TNAIR). Her leadership ensures
that all program activities remain evidence‐based, ethically sound, and aligned with
county and state prevention guidelines.
Lynnette Gonzalez is a Registered Substance Use Disorder Counselor and Recovery
Coach with extensive experience in case management, prevention education, and
recovery programming. As a former foster youth, she brings lived experience that
fuels her passion for early intervention, empowerment, and education. Lynnette has
years of experience facilitating groups, developing curriculum, and
coordinating residential treatment programs. As Founder and CEO of True‐North
Initiative, she leads all operational, logistical, and programmatic components of the
Annual Intensive Retreat (TNAIR) and oversees mentor development, youth
engagement, and long‐term program sustainability.
Lawrence Wilkins is an accounting professional with more than 15 years of
experience in finance, nonprofit management, and community service. His career
includes roles as Controller for the Writers Guild of America and work with Team
Rubicon and CRCD (Coalition for Responsible Community Development). Lawrence
combines financial expertise with a commitment to youth mentorship, providing
guidance on budgeting, resource management, and life skills. As Treasurer and
Mentor for True‐North Initiative, he ensures fiscal integrity, compliance, and
financial transparency while modeling accountability and leadership for program
participants.
Charles Beal is a certified Peer Support Specialist, registered substance use disorder counselor and currently pursuing his CADC I
credential. With nearly 15 years of continuous sobriety, he brings deep experience
in recovery mentorship, relapse prevention, and youth engagement. Charles serves
as Operations and Logistics Manager for True‐North Initiative, coordinating
scheduling, transportation, and facility safety during the Annual Intensive Retreat
(TNAIR). Throughout the year, he continues to mentor youth, promoting personal
responsibility, teamwork, and sustainable recovery through trauma‐informed
guidance.
Toni Collins is a Licensed Vocational Nurse with more than 10 years of experience
in clinical and residential healthcare settings. Her professional background includes
detoxification, recovery medicine, and community health. As On‐Site Nurse for the
Annual Intensive Retreat (TNAIR), she provides daily medical monitoring,
medication management, and emergency response while maintaining
trauma‐informed, compassionate care. Her presence ensures medical safety,
compliance with state health standards, and ongoing wellness education for all
youth and staff.
Dr. Bosu is a licensed physician specializing in Addiction Medicine with extensive
experience in medical oversight, treatment coordination, and prevention
programming. He provides clinical guidance and supervision for True‐North
Initiative’s Annual Intensive Retreat (TNAIR), ensuring that all medical and safety
protocols adhere to best practices. His expertise supports the organization’s
commitment to safe, evidence‐based prevention and early intervention strategies.
Dr. Bosu’s leadership strengthens the program’s capacity to address both
behavioral and medical aspects of substance‐use prevention.
Mike Boyd is an active military Flight Paramedic (FPC) with specialized training in
trauma response, emergency medicine, and crisis leadership. With years of field
experience and a commitment to mentorship, Mike brings practical skills in
resilience, teamwork, and emergency preparedness to True‐North Initiative’s
Annual Intensive Retreat (TNAIR). He leads prevention and wellness workshops
focused on decision‐making under pressure, stress management, and developing
strong coping strategies—empowering youth to respond calmly and confidently in
high‐stress situations.
Liana Campos is a successful small‐business owner with extensive experience in
branding, financial literacy, and youth mentorship. She has operated her own
business for over a decade and now uses that experience to help youth explore
career readiness and entrepreneurship. During the Annual Intensive Retreat
(TNAIR), Liana facilitates workshops on self‐discovery, financial independence, and
small‐business planning. She continues year‐round as a mentor, supporting youth in
building self‐confidence, discipline, and personal accountability through career and
entrepreneurship development.
Prince Rugira is a dedicated Recovery Advocate and youth mentor actively engaged
in prevention education and community outreach. He has several years of
experience working in behavioral health and recovery settings, supporting both
adolescents and adults in substance‐use prevention and is actively pursuing his CADC I credential. Prince facilitates group
sessions and peer mentorship activities during the Annual Intensive Retreat
(TNAIR) and throughout the school year. His authentic, trauma‐informed approach
helps youth build trust, resilience, and a strong foundation for drug‐free living.
Oscar Reyes has a professional background in medical technology and health
education. His mentorship focuses on inspiring youth to pursue science, healthcare,
and technology‐related careers through practical learning and exposure to
emerging fields. At the Annual Intensive Retreat (TNAIR), Oscar assists with
prevention education sessions and offers year‐round mentorship, connecting
academic curiosity with real‐world career goals. His role helps youth build a bridge
between prevention, education, and future opportunity.
Darrin Allen is a youth coach and mentor with more than 10 years of experience in
athletic leadership and structured youth programming. As Weekend Activities
Director for the Annual Intensive Retreat (TNAIR), he organizes recreational
activities, group challenges, and physical wellness programs that build teamwork
and self‐esteem. Darrin’s trauma‐informed coaching style creates a positive and
safe environment that supports both emotional and physical well‐being for youth
participants.
True‐North Initiative’s leadership team collectively brings over 40 years of
combined experience in behavioral health, prevention education, recovery services,
youth mentorship, and community development. Together, they provide the
professional expertise, trauma‐informed perspective, and lived experience
necessary to carry out the organization’s mission—to empower youth at risk to lead
